lavender & himalayan salt scrub

With the end of a stressful semester, self care is necessary! There are so many ways to practice self care, but today I decided to have a little spa day. I made a DIY lavender Himalayan salt scrub to use on my dry skin. With just 3 ingredients, this scrub is easy to make and a great way to practice the self care we all need. The coconut oil is a great moisturizer, and the ground himalayan salt helps exfoliate skin and can remove toxins. The lavender essential oil aids in relaxation. Check out the recipe below!

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup coconut oil

- 1/2 ground himalayan salt

- 6-8 drops lavender essential oil

How to make it

- mix the coconut oil and himalayan salt in a bowl until combined

- add 6-8 drops of essential oil and mix it into the scrub until evenly dispersed

- store in a sealed container

Finished product

How to use it

Apply a dollop of scrub to a wet face, hands, or feet and massage it into skin. Rinse off thoroughly with water. Store in a sealed container.

Variations

You can use different essential oils when making this scrub. I chose lavender because of its calming properties, but some other ideas include lemongrass, tea tree, frankincense, and rose oil.

All in all

This scrub could be a great last minute homemade Christmas gift, or the perfect DIY project to practice the self care we need and deserve! Happy Holidays friends :)
